New Home Rebates for Island Home Builders to get BC Step Code Approvals
If you are a Home Builder on Vancouver Island, British Columbia there are significant New Home Rebates changed for Part 9.36 residential buildings. The performance based BC Energy Step Code was enacted on April 17, 2017 and replaced City prescriptive Codes on December 15th, 2017. Your City either has New Home Rebates – or will soon have a requirement to engage a BC Energy Advisor, “EA“, to produce an EnerGuide Rating from your Home Plans before prior to getting a Building Permit.
Your City Plan Checker requires an EA produced EnerGuide Rating Report to approve your permit and will look for performance in GJ/M2.
